About READY to Thrive

READY to Thrive is a bold new campaign challenging stigma and discrimination, spotlighting the voices and leadership of young people affected by HIV – and building communities where they are free to thrive.

The campaign unites young people, communities, and healthcare providers across East and Southern Africa and beyond.  Together, we’re shining a light on what works and amplifying the change that is already happening across the READY Movement.

READY to Thrive is your platform to speak out, share your story, and show what’s possible when we tackle stigma together.

What we know about stigma and discrimination

Stigma and discrimination are among the biggest barriers facing adolescents and young people affected by HIV. They show up in families, clinics, schools and communities, often silencing conversations about HIV, discouraging young people from getting tested or staying on treatment, and making it harder to access accurate information about how to stay healthy.

READY to Thrive is a response to this reality – an opportunity for us to push back against these barriers.

What the campaign will do

READY to Thrive showcases how partners and advocates across the READY Movement are:

  • Supporting young people to take control of their health and rights
  • Building understanding and supportive communities
  • Advocating for systems and policies that create meaningful change

Whether by creating safe spaces, speaking out on social media, supporting peers or holding decision makers to account, the campaign recognizes the central role young people play in challenging stigma and driving change.
